Steven has over 15 years experience in the creative industries, and is spurred on by the desire to make creative visual works across a variety of industries, from food and beverage to fashion, jewellery to corporate. in short, I love to produce great video, photography and everything in between.
How I work
Steven Mayatt Creative acts as a portal to my creative work, which I produce through my team at Pocket Creatives - creating a wide variety of both video and photographic content. We have stayed true to the values set up at Steven Mayatt Creative of being able to offer high quality, affordable and creatively-inspired works.
I pride myself on having an inclusive and open briefing process: I like to get to know you a bit better and find out about your project from all angles. I can work with a range of budgets and I'll even pay for the coffee! You can contact me on here or at Pocket for information and for quotes for your project, and on LinkedIN.
What we do...
My career started in the broadcast industry, running a team at one of London's busiest post-production houses to look after some of TV's most popular programmes for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and satellite channels. This experience gave me the backbone of a high standard of both technical and organisational knowledge in completing hundreds of hours of projects per week and running a team across a 7 day period 24 hours a day.
However, the overriding creative desire was in creation, and I started my first company when I was 22, a small production company servicing some of London's biggest heritage organisations such as The National Portrait Gallery, The Museum of London and Tower Bridge to name a few. Through these,I grew a small team highly capable of delivering affordable creative works to mainstream clients, both for internal audiences and the general public. In fact, one of our works is still displayed in the Museum of London!
In 2010, I merged this small business with a larger video agency and was there able to direct the new company's video production services, looking after clients from Tesco, British Gas, Philips, Currys PC World and Arcadia. My most memorable moments were pitching ideas to Sir Philip Green, and working with Olly Murs on the Pringles 25th Birthday campaign.
I started working as Steven Mayatt Creative in 2016, having migrated from a production agency and deciding to 'go it alone'. I built a very capable small team, able to work flexibly, fast and to a great level of quality on affordable budgets. Using this as a platform we rebranded as Pocket Creatives in late 2017 boasting a gorgeous client list, having been privileged to work with over 100 different companies in just over 18 months, many of whom still work regularly with us.
